MC Ceja, Latin Rap pioneer, is excited to announce the release of “Loba” featuring Baby Rasta & Gringo. This latest release is set to make history – in only one month, the premier has surpassed seven million views on YouTube, plus more than 500,000 downloads across all digital blogs and outlets including Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes, and more.
“Loba” follows closely on the heels of three new songs successfully released earlier this year by MC Ceja, one of the most influential rappers in the world, and is poised to climb to even greater heights. “Loba” features the unlikely collaboration of MC Ceja with reggaetón duo, Baby Rasta & Gringo, and is inspired by the mystic of vampires and werewolves.
“It is a true honor for me to collaborate with colleagues such as Baby Rasta & Gringo, with whom I have had plenty of history in the past 20 years of our careers. It was a pleasure working together in “Loba” and the energy and lyrics are incredible, as our fans worldwide have attested! We had done other collaborations before this one, but we’ve come back more powerful than ever!” – MC Ceja
Using the violin to set an eerily romantic, yet dark tone, the images, melodies, and lyrics combine to create a mysterious mythical, tale of forbidden love. The artists who, in the public eye, often appeared enemies since their ‘beef’ in the early 90’s, came together to create this single with great commercial potential.
The pairing of MC Ceja and Baby Rasta & Gringo, is not the first, nor will it likely be the last given the rave reviews “Loba” has received thus far. Early collaborations in songs, like Daddy Yankee’s “Somos de Calle Remix,” “Hablaron de Mi Remix,” and “Se Lamentaran” cleared the way for “Loba”, as well as future partnerships and hold the promise of making a mark on the future of multiple music genres. It is clear any difference they had is long past in terms of business, though the innovative edge it brought to their music is still in play.
“We have made made the ‘beef’ a part of some live performances, no longer personal, but professional for entertainment purposes because people enjoy the show. We use the concept, and the fans like it. Of course, the ultimate message is that people with issues can solve them,” MC Ceja insisted.
The new release has the look and feel of a film, a movie, with inspired melodies, striking images, and bold lyrics, driven by powerful music. It touches on new themes, combining fantasy and realism to open the imagination and stimulate the senses.
“Loba” will be featured on MC Ceja’s upcoming album Mendo: Rebirth, which will be released later this year, though no date has been set. Additionally, and possibly a signal of the album release, MC Ceja plans to visit Ecuador, Peru, and Colombia later this year for a promo tour.
