for November release
Miami, FL This legend is creating a new career. Llandel Veguilla Malavé, better known as Yandel, launches his solo career alongside Sony Music, starting today.
His first single “Hablé de Ti” (I Spoke of You) has been seven consecutive weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s “Latin Rhythm Airplay” chart. Even better, Yandel already has a full album, De Líder a Leyenda (From Leader to Legend), up his sleeve. It’s a well-crafted work that he produced and devoted plenty of time to perfecting. This album is to be released by Sony Music this November.
De Líder a Leyenda is one of the most eagerly awaited albums of the year and features many surprises.
Afo Verde,Sony Music’s Chairman and CEO for the Latin Region, Spain and Portugal, is pleased with the signing of Yandel to Sony Music: “We feel very excited to welcome Yandel to our home. Yandel is, without a doubt, one of the best-rounded Latin artists in his genre, and with great potential for international growth in all of his artistic scopes. This complements and reaffirms our presence on the global music scene.”
Furthermore, Sony MusicU.S. Latin’s Managing Director, Nir Seroussi, offered a warm welcome to Yandel: “It’s a privilege that the Legend of urban music has chosen to join Sony to launch this new phase of his career.”
Yandel also expressed his enthusiasm by saying: “I’m very excited for this new phase in my career, as always my focus has been to give my very best to all my fans and now with my new family from Sony Music and my new team, I know we can make history together.”
With De Líder a Leyenda, Yandel notes that we’re going to listen to his music just the way he’s intended for us to.
As a member of the Puerto Rican group Wisin y Yandel, he became part of the most popular duo in Latin music history, with 10 Billboard #1 singles. Over the last 14 years, they’ve shepherded urban music from the barrio to international radio and the hottest clubs around the world. His influence over the music scene is immeasurable…that’s why the duo is known as “the leaders.”
Yandel debuted “Hablé de Ti” live during the Premios Juventud 2013 awards, creating buzz on social media with his performance that left no doubt that this legend is supremely confident and self-assured as a solo artist.
Yandel is managed by Armando Lozano for ZZinc Group.
